Job Title: GIS Engineer

Job Summary
As a GIS Engineer, you will work on geospatial data collection, mapping, and analysis to support infrastructure and governance projects. You will collaborate with senior engineers and analysts to build and maintain GIS tools and outputs.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect and update geospatial data using ArcGIS, QGIS, and CAD tools.
• Prepare technical layouts - schematics, maps, spatial diagrams - especially for infrastructure projects.
• Perform spatial and attribute data analysis to support planning and decision-making.
• Ensure accuracy and consistency of GIS datasets, maintaining metadata and documentation.
• Work with teams to understand business or government needs and deliver GIS-based solutions.
• Help prepare technical reports, project deliverables, and presentations.
• Assist in developing or testing GIS workflows, scripts, and automation where needed.
• Keep up with the latest GIS tools and industry practices.

Required Skills

• 2 years of experience in GIS mapping, spatial data handling, or related engineering roles.
• Hands-on experience with ArcGIS and/or QGIS, and CAD software.
• Familiarity with spatial analysis, geoprocessing tools, and attribute data management.
• Analytical mindset, detail-oriented, with good problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work well in a team and collaborate across functions.

Qualification:

• Bachelors/Masters in GIS, Geography, Geoinformatics, or a related field.
• Experience or interest in infrastructure, utility mapping, or government projects.
• Basic scripting knowledge (Python, ModelBuilder, etc.) is a plus.
