Instrumentation Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

1. Instrumentation Maintenance:
   
• Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of field instruments (temperature, pressure, level, flow, pH, conductivity, etc.).
  
• Troubleshoot and repair instrument-related issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
  
• Maintain all documentation related to instrumentation maintenance.
  
2. DCS / PLC / SCADA Operations:
   
• Support DCS/PLC/SCADA system maintenance, backups, and modifications.
  
• Assist in logic modifications and commissioning of new instruments or control loops.
  
3. Calibration and Testing:
   
• Carry out routine calibration of field instruments as per schedule.
  
• Maintain calibration certificates and logs.
  
4. Project Support:
   
• Participate in the commissioning of new projects and equipment.
  
• Assist in instrument selection and procurement during CAPEX projects or plant modifications.
  
5. Safety & Compliance:
   
• Ensure all instrumentation activities are carried out in compliance with plant safety standards.
  
• Participate in HAZOP/HAZAN studies and implement recommended instrumentation changes.
  
6. Inventory & Vendor Coordination:
   
• Monitor spares and consumables inventory for instrumentation equipment.
  
• Coordinate with vendors for AMC, support, and warranty services.
  
7. Documentation & Reporting:
   
• Update loop diagrams, P&IDs, and instrument indexes.
  
• Prepare daily/weekly maintenance reports and downtime analysis.
  

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education: B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering / Electronics & Instrumentation
  
• Experience: 4 - 9 years of experience in instrumentation maintenance in a smelter plant or heavy process industry (zinc, copper, aluminum, steel, etc.)
