Job Description
- Collaborate and identify companywide energy efficiency strategies to reduce energy consumption and operational costs
- Identify and evaluate energy-saving opportunities in existing operations, specifically factories but also all operating footprint
- Collaborate with the Global Environmental Manager to integrate energy efficiency goals into Vestas overall sustainability objectives
- Conduct regular energy audits at Vestas facilities to assess current energy use and identify potential improvements
- Develop detailed energy assessment reports, including recommendations for energy-saving measures and cost-benefit analyses
- Track the progress of energy efficiency projects and report on their impact on overall energy consumption and carbon emissions
- Support the Global Environmental Manager in ensuring compliance with ISO 50001 (Energy Management) and other relevant energy standards
- Contribute to the preparation of Sustainability reports by providing accurate data on energy use and efficiency improvements
- Utilize data analytics to monitor energy consumption trends, identify anomalies, and recommend corrective actions
Qualifications
- Bachelor / Masters in Energy Management/ Environmental Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Similar specialization
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in energy management or a related field, with a focus on energy efficiency in industrial or large-scale operations.
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM), ISO 50001 Lead Auditor, or equivalent certifications are highly desirable.
Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of energy efficiency technologies is important
- The ability to conduct energy audits, analyze data, and identify areas for improvement is critical
- Managing projects from conception to implementation, including budgeting, scheduling, and coordinating with various stakeholders
- In-depth knowledge of carbon neutral and decarbonization strategies
- Developing innovative solutions to improve energy efficiency and overcome implementation challenges
- Proficient in articulating technical concepts to non-expert audiences and leading effective training workshops
