Zepto Delivering Cars? Why It Might Be Going Too Far

Zepto has certainly made a huge impact in the quick commerce space, especially in big cities, where their quick deliveries are a real game-changer. But the recent buzz about Zepto possibly delivering cars, in collab with Skoda, feels a bit over the top. Buying a car is such a special experience. The entire process, from visiting the dealership to driving away in your brand-new car, just can’t be replicated by a home delivery service. It’s a big moment, and the excitement of taking delivery at the showroom adds to the thrill. Turning that into a simple doorstep delivery doesn’t seem right. Also, I can’t imagine relying on the same platform that delivers eggs in 10 minutes to handle a 1.5 lakh-rupee iPhone, let alone a car. Honestly, I feel like this Skoda-Zepto collab is more of a marketing stunt to generate buzz for the Kylaq. It doesn’t feel like there’s enough demand for this kind of service, and I think most people, like myself, would prefer the traditional showroom experience.

Convenience is great, but where do we draw the line? Some purchases need a personal touch, and a car is definitely one of them...

If Zepto delivers cars, does that mean test drives will be available in 10 minutes too? Some things just don’t fit the quick-commerce model

I get the convenience factor, but cars aren’t milk and bread. This feels more like a PR move than an actual shift in consumer demand.

Wouldn’t trust a 10 minute delivery app with a multi-lakh purchase. Showrooms exist for a reason....test drives, expert guidance, and the joy of the moment...

Next up: Zepto delivering houses? Jokes aside, I feel this experiment is more about marketing than an actual change in how people want to buy cars.

Interesting concept, but who’s really asking for this?

[cerealkiller](username) technically no one, but then there are a lot of things that we currently use that nobody was asking for , they came into existence and now we cant live without them
