The Operations team culture is not inclusive, with noticeable bias from management towards certain employees. Favoritism is a recurring issue, especially within the B2B vertical (Parcel & Food Delivery). If you're considering joining this team, be aware of the dynamics — employees from Marathi-speaking cities seem to have a 90% chance of selection, those who speak Hindi about 50%, and candidates from the South have minimal chances. The team’s environment is heavily focused on pleasing superiors, and if you're not in the "inner circle," it can be difficult to thrive. The workload is demanding, but there are limited learning opportunities to grow your skill set or advance your career. On top of that, you’re paid 20-25% less than the market average, which makes it even harder to stay motivated. There is no clear structure for Key Result Areas (KRAs), and they are changed frequently. You're expected to meet performance expectations without clear guidelines, and at the end of the quarter, you might find yourself being told you didn’t meet expectations, despite not having clear metrics to guide you. Another issue is HR — they are not proactive in resolving employee concerns. If you escalate an issue, it often gets passed directly to your manager without any real action being taken. The entire company runs like a dynasty. Few over-hyped self-claimed intellectuals, mostly dwelling from Andhra have occupied the top positions and are ruining the real talents and the investors money. Salary, promotion, role, respect, everything depends on how frequently you hangout with your Director/VP for parties, smoke and gossip sessions. Investors money is being smoked by the VPs and Directors with their poor an negligent attitude towards the work. Few of them are empanelinng their own ventures with the company and deciding their own vendor payouts. No compliance at all. HRs are joke, right from the VP till the junior levels. Their only contribution is Rangoli program, Cake cutting, Santa-clause acts and firing employees on unethical means. Dear Pavan / Aravind, the reason for Rapido's success is your true resources who mostly have left or removed from Rapido now. Team bonding is great, people are helpfull. There is moderate job security and they are promt with IT help.

Dislikes

There is heavy micromanagement and bad behaviour from upper management, at times bullying. There is no space for creativity and onus of making original work. Minimum consideration even if someone is injured and performance is absolutely based on how long one works rather than the quality of work.

The work culture is extremely toxic, making it a terrible place to work. People with no knowledge of analytics and product are leading these teams just because they talk well. Nepotism is everywhere, and promotions are given based on favoritism, not talent. Senior management knows about these issues but does nothing to fix them. If you complain to HR, you will be fired instead of getting help. Silent layoffs are happening, and employees are being pushed out without notice. The team is breaking apart, and almost everyone is trying to leave. They try to remove negative reviews from AmbitionBox and Glassdoor to hide the reality. No personal life, forget work-life balance. They'll make you feel grateful that they are not firing you (every month repeatedly), if you ever ask for leaves or cultural betterment. HR team is a puppet to founders and leadership. The leadership is not deserving but instead there because of nepotism and founder's bias. Product leadership at Rapido has always been driven by NON PRODUCT people. Everything is run by Operation team who acts like mafias. Promotion and hikes are only given to people basis the perception they create in the mind of the leadership (guess what, who all gets promoted? of course who can maintain being in the good-books of leadership even if they never work or make any effort to either).
