Work life balance is great.Flexible work timings. Not much work pressure. Provides some benefits besides salary.

Dislikes

No job security. They suddenly send you a mail that you are affected by the organization restructuring. Within minutes you will become jobless.

Likes

Good Pay, Competitive and Spontaneous work environment. You see good numbers, value, opportunities, growth hope during meetings and discussions but very few get closed.

Dislikes

You can grow only if you’re a bootlicker and carry that fake smiling face 24x7 across workplace. Proven record of mass layoff, individual firings (zero tolerance to behavioural and performance issues) without prior notice. No PIP policy. If you have a secondary income or a secondary job offer ready all the time, then go here. They party, they work, they make money, they make losses, they do bitching n gossip(due to smaller team size), it’s all manageable until you can take the risk of getting vanished one random day all of a sudden from your position even if you’re a VP (again proven record) !!!! It’s a start-up so no long-term layoff compensation as compared to other companies with 4-6 month payout + other benefits. It’s 2 months incase of layoff not sure about other frequent individual firing compensation.

Great set of people to work with. Improved my technical skills under the mentorship of some of the craziest tech crazy people. Boosted my confidence in becoming a better developer and inculcated leadership skills in me which I lagged before joining here.

Dislikes

Esper might hire some of the best tech talents out there in the market but they are poor at people's management. Upper management takes not so sensible decisions and keeps changing the internal working team structure. From engineering point of view the deliverables kept changing during a quarter which showed how much clarity the engineering head and the leads have. Poor communication skills from people's team and bit of office politics can be witnessed by this team. Overall I can say is great team to work with but poor upper management taking the charge.

For some unknown reason, this company has managed to hire a exceptional people in the engineering department (at least the part where I was working).

Dislikes

Politics with promotions, mistrustful management, slower HR turn-around time. US office, on the other hand, gets multiple benefits even though no major portion of engineering chunk happens there. Then there are lay-offs that happened, quite huge. All-in-all, the product isn't that great but sustainable, however, the company thinks that they are the next Apple. There are many problems that are not fixed and will continue not to be fixed. Such a headache. Another thing is that, the working hours. Quite horrendous. The office is located in Indiranagar, so expect sky-high rents or live far away with traffic ridden path to the office.

Joined Esper recently, very welcoming organisation. Perks like wellness benefits, Cab facility , free breakfast, lunch and snacks. Also, Insurance. Company also promotes learning through Linkedin Encourages Diversity and open culture organization.
