No Salary Discussion in My Appraisal — What’s Your Experience?
In my appraisal meeting, they didn’t ask or discuss my expectations about my salary or hike percentage. The entire discussion was only about feedback and performance review. After the meeting, I asked why they didn’t allow me to share my expectations or reveal my hike numbers. They told me that the hike numbers would be decided only by the owner and then they would inform me. I feel an appraisal meeting should include open discussion about both performance and future expectations. What are your thoughts? Does this happen in your company too?

Very positive and supportive people and work environment. I learnt a lot in the past months. The work life balance is good and teammates are very understanding. Hybrid mode makes it very convenient. Overall I really enjoyed the experience.

No sick leaves allowed for interns and there is a pay cut despite very low stipend. That’s the only drawback.

Probably the fact they used to have a permanent WFH situation. It seems like they're resuming WFO, so that's also gone.

Dislikes

- Upper management has little or no knowledge of the day-to-day work - People fight to take credit for things they didn't help in creating/executing - No HR initiatives, low salaries, delayed appraisals - A blame game is played every time there is a client escalation, and it's usually the unsuspecting grinder who is made to bear the brunt of it - If you do a good job on something, you aren't given any recognition/raise/incentive, just a pat on the back - Even though the company is as small as it is, there is endless gossip and misinformation - No loyalty, if a client has a complaint, your managers won't hesitate to throw you under the bus

I really like the Work Culture here. You get to take full responsibility of your work. The management are very chill and very learned. You can ask them anything freely and they would help you if youre stuck.

Incentives and Appraisals arent that great. They dont provide laptops for work and you will have to use your own. Even if youre lucky to get one, It would be some old laptop with even more issues than the one you have.
