Hiring For Assistant Manager Key Accounts- Import Custom Clearance

Job Summary :

We are seeking a detail-oriented and client-focused Key Accounts Manager Customs Clearance to manage and grow strategic client relationships within our Freight Forwarding division. This role requires strong expertise in customs regulations and clearance processes, and a deep understanding of international trade and logistics. The ideal candidate will act as the primary point of contact for key customers, ensuring timely and compliant customs clearance of shipments while driving service excellence and customer satisfaction.

Job Role and responsibilities:

• Act as the main liaison for assigned key accounts, ensuring all their customs clearance needs are managed professionally and promptly.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients by understanding their supply chain needs and offering tailored customs solutions.
• Coordinate with internal customs clearance teams to ensure timely filing of Bill of Entry, Bill of Export, and other documentation.
• Oversee document preparation and compliance in accordance with Indian Customs regulations (or applicable country-specific rules).
• Resolve customs queries, detentions, and ensure minimal delays or penalties.
• Work closely with freight, warehousing, and transport teams to ensure end-to-end movement of goods.
• Liaise with government authorities, CHA (Customs House Agents), and port officials when required.
• Monitor and ensure full compliance with customs laws and procedures.
• Keep abreast of changes in customs regulations and tariffs, advising clients proactively.
• Generate periodic reports on clearance status, demurrage costs, KPI performance, and client feedback.
• Analyse service performance and initiate continuous improvements in customs processes.
• Identify upselling or cross-selling opportunities within existing accounts.
• Support pricing and solution design teams for RFQs/RFPs related to customs clearance.
• Generating accruals & Proforma invoice in My Hub+, Invoice processing & Payment follow ups.
• Stamp duty calculations, liasoning with internal & external allied departments i.e. DNA, Finance & Operations team & Vendors for seamless operation and compliances within time.

Skills & Qualification:

• Excellent client servicing and communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure with multiple stakeholders.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and TMS (Transport Management Systems).
• Knowledge of Incoterms and global trade compliance is a plus.
• Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Business, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in freight forwarding, with at least 2 years in customs clearance and key account management.
• Strong knowledge of customs procedures, EXIM policies, and documentation.
• Familiarity with systems like ICEGATE, EDI, and other clearance platforms.
• Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management or a related field.
