Job Description:

Role Summary:

- The Planning & Logistics Leader will provide strategic guidance and operational leadership across all supply chain functions including demand and supply planning, inventory management, warehousing, transportation, and distribution.

- This role will work closely with the leadership team to define short- and long-term goals aligned with area and global strategies. The position is accountable for overall performance outcomes, resource planning, and functional budgeting to ensure high service levels, operational efficiency, and cost optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

- Define and execute the functional strategy for Planning & Logistics in line with India business objectives and global supply chain priorities.

- Lead resource planning, performance management, and budget control across all supply chain areas.

Demand Planning:

- Provide insights that influence and improve demand forecasts and accuracy.

- Guide new product forecast planning and identify external factors impacting demand.

Supply Planning:

- Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize material and information flow.

- Create and manage inventory deployment strategies aligned with supply sources.

- Lead response planning for unexpected disruptions to maintain service levels.

Inventory Management:

- Develop and implement inventory strategies across plants and distribution centers.

- Promote Lean material management practices.

- Mentor teams on effective inventory management techniques.

- Scheduling and Production Flow

- Optimize production scheduling and supply chain parameters.

- Lead cross-functional alignment on production priorities.

- Champion Lean practices and maintain optimal inventory buffers.

- Supply Chain Analytics & Systems

- Utilize IT systems and data to drive planning decisions and improve visibility.

- Strengthen S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) rigor for key business decisions.

SKU Lifecycle & Rationalization:

- Influence SKU lifecycle decisions in collaboration with business teams.

- Recommend actions for underperforming SKUs to reduce inventory and service risks.

Distribution Network Management:

- Design and enhance product distribution strategies for optimal performance.

- Collaborate with internal and external partners to drive improvements.

- Leverage benchmarking to assess and refine distribution capabilities.

Warehousing & Transportation:

- Develop long-term warehousing and distribution strategies.

- Drive cost, quality, and service enhancements.

- Evaluate transportation modes for compliance, efficiency, and sustainability.

Team Leadership:

- Lead hiring, training, coaching, and performance evaluation of the team.

- Build an inclusive, motivated, and high-performing workforce.

- Encourage continuous learning and development.

Qualifications:

- Education: Graduate degree in Engineering from a reputed institution; MBA in Supply Chain Operations preferred. Tier 1 preferred with Supply chain degree

- Experience: Over 20 years in Supply Chain Management; exposure to manufacturing environments is an added advantage.

- Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing end-to-end supply chain operations.
