Director/Associate Director - Strategic Partnerships

Samhita-CGF is an impact catalyst that has been a leader in Indias CSR landscape for 15 years. Over thistime, we have partnered with more than 250 funders and 500 impact organizations, co-creating solutions that are measurable, scalable, and sustainable. Together, these efforts have improved the lives of over 17 million Indians across 31 states and union territories. Through our initiatives, which are CSR and FCRA compliant, we address key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).


We began as a CSR consultancy to ensure that companies create catalytic change by leveraging their business capabilities to solve social issues that they and their stakeholders care about. We then transitioned into a strategic alliance builder, bringing together public, private, and philanthropic stakeholders to solve pressing societal challenges, at scale. We established and managed 5 alliances which are collectively impacting 7 million individuals from underserved communities, across financial inclusion, healthcare, livelihood, water and sanitation.


Role Overview:


Director/Associate Director Strategic Partnerships will be involved in strategic planning, relationship management, designing long term fund raising plan and resource mobilization efforts to support the organizations fund raising targets. The role requires a talent for building relationships and a proven track record in securing funds from corporates, foundations, trusts and other donors.


Roles and Responsibilities:


Strategy and Planning:


- Accountable to lead the annual fundraising planning process and create a comprehensive short and long term strategy aligning with the organizations goals, values, targets across various revenue streams.


- Adept at identifying potential opportunities, build and utilize knowledge of current and future industry practices and trends to position Samhita as a trusted advisor and critical business partner.


- Create compelling pitch decks and donor presentations to showcase Samhitas offering and how to integrate it with the requirements of the donor organization


Fund Raising:


- Prepare and own the overall fundraising plan for Samhita. Design a process to track pipeline and progress on a weekly \ monthly \ quarterly basis to ensure the targets are met and also work on Plan B and Plan C for achieving the annual numbers.


- Design revenue models that are sustainable and scalable by taking in to consideration operational costs, partners costs and other project management costs.


- Tap in to existing networks and build new networks to increase organizations visibility amongst corporates, trusts, foundations, government agencies, also identify and develop new donors and maximize fundraising opportunities.


Client Engagement & Relationship Building:


- Work closely with the CEO and the Core team, CSR clients, other potential Donors to nurture long terms strategic partnerships and continued funding support


- Collaborate with external stakeholders (Clients, Donors, Government, Ministries) to tap on the current and upcoming opportunities


- Write high level proposals and concept notes that showcases the solutions offered by Samhita and also share the model on how the program can be co-created and implemented to meet the needs of the donors and also build framework to ensure the programs are sustainable, scalable and successful.


Campaign Development and Outreach:


- Create and participate in industry events, donor engagement programs, annual giving events, campaigns for continued engagement and long term funding support from various potential donors and stakeholders.


- Support the communications team in putting together outreach toolkit consisting of various proposals, collaterals, updated numbers, standard decks, newsletters, playbooks which will help in the outreach and help in showcasing Samhitas work to the external stakeholders.


Leadership and Team Development:


- Provide strong leadership to the management team and team members of the partnerships team


- Foster a positive and inclusive work culture that promotes team work, innovation and high performance


- Develop and mentor future leaders within the organization


Qualifications, Skills & Experience:


- Should have experience in raising funds. 15+ years of experience in fund raising, building partnerships and business development is a must.


- Ability to cultivate and maintain robust relationships with clients, donors, foundations and all other key external stakeholders


- Strong analytical skills to assess potential markets, ability to design revenue models that align with the organization goals


- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders


- High level of accuracy in managing the fund raising data and all kinds of business reports


- Ability to work in a high paced, entrepreneurial environment will be a success metric


- Proven track record of handling fund raising efforts with complete ownership of the P&L will be a right match.
