Senior Software Engineer - Power BI (3-5 yrs)

Job Summary :

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior BI Engineer with deep expertise in Power BI, Looker, and Tableau, who can drive business intelligence initiatives across the organization.

You will be responsible for building modern, scalable dashboards, supporting presales efforts, and helping modernize our analytics infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about storytelling with data, demonstrate strong data modeling expertise, and thrive in a multi-platform BI ecosystem.

A key part of the role includes engaging with stakeholders, participating in demos and proposals, and contributing to the innovation of analytics through conversational BI and next-gen data visualization techniques.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI, Looker, and Tableau for various business units.

- Translate complex business requirements into intuitive visualizations, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and actionability.

- Develop semantic models, reusable datasets, and calculated measures that drive self-service BI adoption.

- Collaborate with sales and solutioning teams to support presales activities including product demonstrations, RFP responses, POCs, and technical documentation.

- Work closely with external clients to gather requirements, present solutions, and align on BI strategy.

- Participate in the modernization of legacy BI systems, implementing best practices around architecture, performance, and governance.

- Evaluate and integrate emerging BI technologies, such as natural language query (NLQ) or AI-driven analytics.

- Contribute to the roadmap of next-generation BI solutions and ensure alignment with evolving business needs.

- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to define and deliver scalable analytics solutions.

- Maintain and enforce BI standards, documentation, and best practices for development, deployment, and data governance.

Required Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related technical field.

- 4+ years of experience in BI/Analytics roles with demonstrated expertise in :

1. Power BI (data modeling, DAX, performance tuning)

2. Looker (LookML, dashboard design)

3. Tableau (dashboard development, LOD expressions)

- Strong understanding of data modeling, dimensional modeling, and ETL concepts.

- Proven experience translating business requirements into technical BI solutions.

- Exposure to presales environments : demos, POCs, technical proposal writing, and client discussions.

- Deep understanding of modern BI trends, tools, and best practices for performance and scalability
