Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic kidney diseases, including glomerulonephritis, nephrotic syndrome, and polycystic kidney disease.
- Manage patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) and oversee dialysis treatments (hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis).
- Monitor and treat complications related to kidney disorders, such as anemia, bone disease, and fluid/electrolyte imbalances.
- Evaluate and prepare patients for kidney transplantation and provide post-transplant care.
- Interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and kidney biopsies.
- Work closely with primary care physicians and other specialists (e.g., urologists, cardiologists, endocrinologists) to coordinate patient care.
- Educate patients on lifestyle changes, dietary requirements, and medication compliance to slow kidney disease progression.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate patient records.
- Participate in on-call duties and manage nephrology emergencies.
