Associate Manager - Legal/Compliance & Privacy (Kannad Mandatory)

Compliance Management:

Provide timely and proactive advice on regulatory and compliance matters, including:

- Statutory Compliances: Advise on and monitor compliance with all applicable Central and State legislations, including employment laws, safety regulations, and environmental laws.

- US-FCPA, Anti-bribery, and Code of Conduct: Ensure compliance with the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), anti-bribery laws, and the company's Code of Conduct.

- Corporate Compliances/Company Secretarial Matters: Advise on and ensure compliance with all relevant corporate governance and secretarial matters.

- Data Privacy: Advise on and ensure compliance with all applicable data privacy laws, including the Personal Data Protection Act.

- Coordination: Coordinate with global/HQ teams on compliance matters, implement global mandates, and report on key issues.

- Conduct due diligence on third parties (vendors/ suppliers) as per global policy.

- Conduct employee awareness sessions and trainings on compliance matters. Develop and curate relevant content and updates for business teams.

B. Contract Management & Legal Advisory:

- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including supply agreements, inter-company agreements, consulting agreements, licensing agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and employment agreements.

- Drive the entire contract lifecycle, from drafting and negotiation to final execution.

- Advise the business on new regulations and their implications on privacy, intellectual property, and other relevant areas.

- Conduct legal research, interpret laws, and provide timely updates to senior management on important legal matters.

- Build strong relationships with business stakeholders, acting as a trusted legal advisor and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity.

C. Dispute Prevention & Litigation Management:

- Handle queries and investigations from regulatory authorities.

- Liaise with government/regulatory bodies and support the business in drafting representations and communications for submission to such authorities.

- Proactively work with internal and external stakeholders (including vendors/suppliers) to prevent any disputes and litigation.

- Strategically manage high-stakes litigation, including writs, Special Leave Petitions (SLPs), civil and criminal matters, and arbitration proceedings.

- Efficiently handle and track litigation matters in courts, forums, and tribunals in India.

- Draft and prepare legal documents such as petitions, writs, written submissions, complaints, rejoinders, objections, evidence, and affidavits.

- Actively coordinate with law firms, lawyers, and senior legal counsel.

- Ability to work well in a high pressure environment and within very tight timelines.

- Must be a highly motivated self-starter and able to function independently.
