Job Summary:
We are seeking an accomplished and results-driven National Head of Sales to lead and expand the sales operations for our trading business focused on industrial raw materials. This role will also involve driving the integration of financial solutions, such as trade credit, supplier financing, and working capital optimization, into the sales strategy. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sales leadership background, a deep understanding of B2B sales in the industrial space, and experience in integrating financial products into customer solutions to support growth and profitability. The role will also be responsible for meeting sales revenue targets, ensuring profitability, and aligning sales performance with overall business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth
- Develop and execute the national sales strategy to drive revenue growth for industrial raw materials and related services.
- Set clear sales targets and ensure the achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals.
- Identify and target key market segments and customers (domestic and international) to maximize sales opportunities.
- Monitor and report on sales performance to ensure targets are met and exceeded.
Profitability Management
- Ensure that sales efforts are aligned with the company's profitability goals by focusing on high-margin products and solutions.
- Optimize pricing strategies to maintain competitive edge while maximizing profit margins.
- Work closely with procurement and finance teams to ensure cost-effective solutions and maintain profit margins on all sales transactions.
Integration with Financial Solutions
- Collaborate with finance teams to offer trade credit, supplier financing, and other financial solutions to customers, integrating these tools into the sales strategy.
- Develop tailored financial solutions that support customers' working capital needs and drive additional sales opportunities.
- Drive customer adoption of financial products alongside core product offerings, contributing to improved sales volume and profitability.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, ensuring satisfaction, retention, and repeat business.
- Identify new customer opportunities and develop long-term partnerships to maximize sales potential.
- Enhance customer retention through effective account management and personalized service, resulting in sustained profitability.
Sales Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and manage the national sales team to ensure high performance and achievement of sales targets.
- Foster a high-performance sales culture through continuous training, coaching, and skill development.
- Drive team alignment with organizational goals, ensuring seamless collaboration with Procurement, Finance, and other departments.
Market Intelligence & Competitor Analysis
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to inform sales strategies and drive market share.
- Equip the sales team with up-to-date market insights and product knowledge to maximize their effectiveness.
- Identify new opportunities for product differentiation and value proposition enhancement to stay competitive and profitable.
Sales Process Optimization
- Implement best practices for sales forecasting, pipeline management, and reporting to ensure accurate performance tracking.
- Utilize CRM tools to track performance, monitor key metrics, and ensure timely follow-ups, improving overall sales efficiency.
- Streamline the sales cycle from lead generation to order closure, ensuring improved conversion rates and profitability.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in B. Tech/BE, Business, Marketing, MBA (must).
- 18-20 years of experience in B2B sales, preferably in industrial raw materials or trading sectors.
- Proven track record in sales leadership, with a strong focus on achieving sales targets and driving profitability.
- Experience in offering financial products such as trade credit and working capital solutions.
- Strong negotiation and customer relationship management skills.
- Familiarity with CRM and sales analytics tools.
