Job Description
- Executive Sous Chef Responsibilities:Kitchen Management: Oversee the day-to-day kitchen operations, including food preparation, production, and presentation, in the absence of the Executive Chef
- Menu Planning: Collaborate with the Executive Chef in designing menus, creating new dishes, and ensuring that food offerings meet quality and cost standards
- Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and taste, consistently meeting or exceeding customer expectations
- Staff Supervision: Lead and manage kitchen staff, including sous chefs, line cooks, and kitchen assistants

Assign tasks, set expectations, and ensure a well-functioning kitchen team - Recipe Development: Assist in recipe creation, portion control, and standardized cooking techniques
- Inventory Management: Monitor kitchen inventory, oversee ordering of supplies, and manage food costs and waste
- Safety and Hygiene: Ensure strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards and maintain a safe kitchen environment
- Training: Train and mentor kitchen staff in culinary techniques, presentation, and kitchen procedures
- Senior Sous Chef Responsibilities:Support: Assist the Executive Sous Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, particularly during peak service hours
- Line Supervision: Supervise the line cooks, ensuring that they follow recipes, portioning guidelines, and quality standards
- Menu Execution: Oversee the consistent execution of menu items, ensuring that they meet the restaurant's quality and presentation requirements
- Inventory Control: Support inventory management, assist in ordering supplies, and control food costs
- Staff Training: Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, such as commis chefs or apprentices, on culinary techniques and procedures
- Sous Chef Coordination: Work closely with other sous chefs to maintain a cohesive and efficient kitchen brigade
- Safety: Enforce food safety, health, and safety regulations, and ensure that kitchen staff follow all required practices
- Problem Solving: Assist in troubleshooting issues that may arise in the kitchen and contribute to effective problem-solving
