Syren Technologies - Quality Assurance Automation Engineer - Java/Selenium (5-7 yrs)

Job Description :

We are looking to hire an experienced QA Automation Engineer to join our growing team at SyrenCloud Inc.

This is a remote role that requires individuals with a strong background in automation testing, both for UI and data-driven testing.

You will work closely with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to ensure the highest level of software quality and performance.

As a QA Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automation test scripts for various platforms and products.

You will also play an active role in improving testing processes, identifying areas of improvement, and ensuring the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain automation test scripts for UI and data validation using tools such as Selenium WebDriver, JUnit, TestNG, and Cucumber.

- Focus on automating functional, regression, and performance tests for both the UI and data-driven components of the product.

- Execute tests in different environments and ensure coverage across all modules and components.

- Work closely with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to understand the requirements and define optimal test strategies.

- Participate in scrum meetings and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure tests are aligned with user stories and business objectives.

- Identify defects and issues during test execution, collaborate with development teams to understand the root cause, and ensure that issues are addressed in a timely manner.

- Track and monitor defect resolution progress in tools like JIRA.

- Maintain detailed documentation for test cases, test scripts, test execution, and test results.

- Document known issues, steps for replication, and any defects or issues discovered during testing.

- Ensure that documentation is up-to-date, organized, and accessible for review.

- Continuously evaluate testing processes and work to improve test efficiency, effectiveness, and coverage throughout the software development lifecycle.

- Contribute to continuous quality improvement efforts, sharing insights with the team to optimize the testing process.

- Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to integrate automation testing within CI/CD pipelines.

- Ensure that automated tests run successfully as part of the build and deployment process to guarantee high-quality code releases.

Skills & Qualifications :

Educational Background :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

Technical Skills :

- Automation Tools : Proficient in Selenium WebDriver, Selenium Grid, Cucumber, JUnit, TestNG, Maven.

- Programming Languages : Strong experience with Java, Groovy, and familiarity with SQL for data validation and backend testing.

- Frameworks : Experience in BDD (Behavior Driven Development) and TDD (Test Driven Development).

- Test Management Tools : Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and qTest for tracking defects and managing test cases.

- IDE : Familiarity with IntelliJ IDEA or other modern integrated development environments.

- Version Control : Comfortable using Git and related version control systems.

- Testing Focus :

a. Proficient in UI Automation Testing as well as data-driven automation testing.

b. Experience writing automated tests for both web applications and APIs.

Experience :

- 5+ years of experience in QA Automation Engineering or a similar role.

- Strong understanding of SDLC processes, with experience in Agile development and automation testing
