Syren Technologies - Azure Data Architect - Python/SQL (8-9 yrs)

About the Job :

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Data Architect with strong expertise in Azure Cloud technologies, Python, SQL, and PySpark. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading technical teams and delivering scalable, high-performance data solutions. This role requires excellent programming skills in Scala, PySpark, and Python, along with deep knowledge of data modeling, SQL/PLSQL, and cloud data platforms. Experience with Azure certifications is a definite plus.

As a Data Architect, you will work closely with business stakeholders and IT teams to gather requirements, design data models, and build efficient data pipelines. You will be responsible for ensuring that data solutions are aligned with business goals and comply with best practices in data management.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead and mentor a team of 4+ engineers, providing technical guidance and ensuring timely delivery of data solutions.

- Design and architect scalable data platforms and pipelines using Azure Cloud services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Lake.

- Gather and elicit requirements from business users and translate them into clear technical specifications and data models.

- Perform comprehensive data profiling and analysis to understand source data quality and structure.

- Document source systems, data lineage, and transformation rules for accurate data governance and reporting.

- Develop efficient ETL/ELT processes using PySpark, Python, Scala, and SQL to transform and load data from various sources into target systems.

- Work closely with cross-functional teams including business analysts, project managers, architects, developers, and data modelers to deliver end-to-end data solutions.

- Translate complex business requirements into robust, maintainable code and data workflows.

- Optimize SQL queries and data models for performance and scalability.

- Ensure data solutions comply with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.

- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and knowledge sharing sessions within the team.

- Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in cloud data architecture and big data technologies.

Required Skills & Experience :

- Minimum 8 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related roles.

- Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud data services (Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, Data Lake).

- Strong programming skills in Python, PySpark, and Scala.

- Expert-level SQL and PLSQL skills with experience in query optimization and data modeling.

- Proven experience in gathering requirements, data profiling, and designing data transformations.

- Experience leading and managing a team of engineers.

- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with business and technical teams.

- Azure cloud certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect) are a plus.
