IT Assistant General Manager (10-15 yrs)

Job summary :

This position will be responsible for supporting the IT department in managing and enhancing the organization's technology infrastructure, with a specific focus on leveraging AI technologies to improve processes and business operations. This role involves strategic planning, project management, and overseeing the implementation of advanced IT solutions to drive efficiency, innovation, and competitive advantage.

Key responsibilities :

IT strategy and Planning :

- Develop and implement the IT strategy in alignment with business goals.

- Identify opportunities for technological innovation to improve operational efficiency and productivity.

- Manage and mentor the IT team to build organizational IT capabilities.

- Optimize IT footprint through green IT practices, energy-efficient hardware, and virtualization.

- Lead pilot projects using AI & machine learning

- Measure ROI and performance of new technologies, iterating as needed.

Security Management :

- Design and enforce IT security policies and procedures to safeguard company data and infrastructure.

- Implement and manage firewalls, antivirus solutions, and intrusion detection systems.

- Ensure compliance with data protection laws and ISO standards as well as perform IT audits.

- Respond to and resolve security breaches and incidents effectively.

Hardware management :

- Oversee the procurement, installation, and maintenance of IT hardware (servers, desktops, laptops, printers, and networking devices).

- Ensure optimal performance of physical and virtual hardware environments.

- Plan for capacity and scalability to meet future business requirements.

Software management

- Manage the implementation, licensing, and updates of business software's, including ERP systems and other enterprise applications.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify software needs and provide suitable solutions.

- Oversee software development/customization projects where necessary.

- Validate software requirements with stakeholders and supervise custom integrations.

Budgeting and vendor management :

- Prepare and manage the annual IT budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions.

- Evaluate and negotiate with IT vendors and service providers for hardware, software, and services.

Qualifications and experience :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science / Information Technology. Relevant certification such as AI certifications, will be an added advantage.

- More than 10-12 years of experience in IT management with preferred exposure in manufacturing / infrastructure companies

Skills and competencies :

- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity & enterprise systems.

- Should have good knowledge of AI technologies, data analytics and machine learning models.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively
