Mandatory Weight Loss Group at Work
My manager made this WhatsApp group called 'Weight Loss Group' out of the blue. He just announced it on a call and boom, there it was. He wanted us to post our weight like, pictures of our feet on the scale twice a week. He'd even tag us in our regular work chat to remind us. It was super strange. Thing is, our team's never talked about weight loss before. One of my coworkers asked if we could do it just once a week, but the manager said no. It didn't feel optional at all, since we were just added without any say. I'm wondering if this is normal. Do other teams do this?

Its ok to motivate your team to be fit & healthy but poking now & then for this weighing scale image is complete torture & out of line. Its like invading someone's private space.

Suggest the manager to seek therapy. Looks like a mid-life crisis situation and instead of handling it, distracting themselves with such lunacy. And don't forget to report to HR first before suggesting therapy.
