Its good to work there. Performance is key. Do not expect more learning but Work life balance is very good and Pay is Okay. If you are performing good its the best place. Company culture is very good. Also Job security and Brand value is a plus.

Dislikes

Promotions are slow. Pay is not high but Okay.

I'm working as External employee, I heard Mercedes won't make external employee as permanent employee easily. Salary Growth is also not too good here.

Some of the facilities like transportation and free meals are good. The work pressure is less than that what seems to be in Big 4's. Also, its not that difficult to get leaves around here.

Dislikes

There is a clear biasness between trainees and permanent employees. Within the trainees also, there is Company Trainee, Management Trainee, Apprentice Trainee, etc. Everyone knows everyone's salary. The conversion ratio from Trainee to Permanent employee will be under 20% and it is clearly not based on your performance, rather vacancy. Varied levels of respect will be given to different trainees with some (Apprentices) will be treated no more as peons/clerks/labor. The systems and processes are outdated. There are piles of papers around in the Finance dept. Even the HR onboarding form is based on Excel and there is no central portal or anything like that. Tech-wise, the company is running 20 years behind, maybe more. So a lot of issues which the tech could have solved, you'll be doing this around manually. And I'm not even talking about AI/ML or other fancy stuffs. The team members will support you if you are a permanent employee and if you are a trainee, well then you'll be here for a maximum of 2 years- first tenure of 1 year which is then extended for another year, based on requirement. After that, if there is no vacancy, well then you'll be asked to pack your bags. In my 8-10 months of stay here, I've seen more than 15 trainees asked to leave after a period of 2 years (whose tenure were completed during this time) and 3 were converted to full-time employees. There is very limited scope of skill development from Finance point of view (not sure about Engineering section) but since this is just an Assembly plant and not a manufacturing one, the scope could be limited there as well. Also, the diversity, especially region-wise is quite restricted with predominantly people from in and around Pune (if you are from Pune, your chances of selection will increase significantly). I think more than 80% of the workforce will be from Pune. This also leads to development of certain biasness towards people outside of Maharashtra. (Now this is only true for my team and I cannot say the same for other teams) The office is located around 50 km from the city and at least 20km from the nearest livable (decent) place so you'll be spending at least 1.5 hour on traveling....Read More

One of the most low energy companies in the market. Teams are sluggish to respond to requirements and Bangalore tech centre is a support to Germany. Most of the efforts go in organising team dinner and events which are absolutely worthless from career growth point of view. Coming on to career growth- very very slow for 10 years then it picks up pace as the organisation prefers "Years of Experience" to "Quality of Work". Manager have zero to no technical knowledge. They are just "Program Managers". Deputy General Managers are excellent though with good knowledge<mark style="background-color: #fff5e4;">.
