No Salary Discussion in My Appraisal — What’s Your Experience?
In my appraisal meeting, they didn’t ask or discuss my expectations about my salary or hike percentage. The entire discussion was only about feedback and performance review. After the meeting, I asked why they didn’t allow me to share my expectations or reveal my hike numbers. They told me that the hike numbers would be decided only by the owner and then they would inform me. I feel an appraisal meeting should include open discussion about both performance and future expectations. What are your thoughts? Does this happen in your company too?

...dards for ethical conduct in the industry. I encountered absolutely no politics. Salary was at par with market. 90% of teammates were hard working and result oriented. The reporting authority always tried to think from the perspective of the employee; bosses never nagged, treated with respect and took care of all requirements.

...ists, where those who are not part of the inner circle are treated as outsiders. This can negatively impact promotions, salary hikes, and opportunities to showcase one's skills, regardless of competence. Moreover, mid-management often lacks the capability to effectively lead the team, further contributing to an unfair work environment. In such situations, one often faces two choices: either adapt and align with the group, including engaging in flattery, or leave the team or organization. Additionally, internal job postings (IJPs) are often influenced by connections and internal referrals, making it even harder for outsiders to progress.

Salary is decent

Internal job postings are rigged Lateral movement or promotions are impossible ...It's possible only for people who are close to top management There are horrible people in the organisation Especially those in the UK think they still rule this world with that colonial superiority complex .. There are some blabber mouths like Ma***w J**n*s, who thinks he is very intelligent , and talks crap like visibility and not performance ... He does nothing other than PPTs and then encourages people who don't work, but only do comms and decorative work in the name of visibility... Such a shame. If you are working from Europe, MJ will ensure you grow Then we have people like S********r N*n**g*****n from Chennai GTC who apparently is a phD holder .. A good fit to be a school teacher and not an IT professional.. gets ideas from people and then cleverly says it's his own ...he amplifies a small piece of work as revolutionary, although it is from the stone age .. speaks about AI , but encourages manual work in his team.. Pokes his nose in other teams matters AZ used to be good , but these people with colonial hangover still ensure that the strong GCCs in Mexico and Chennai remain a backoffice ... These people from Europe hardly do any upskilling and those in UK think that speaking their mother tongue English makes them intelligent and superior..Then we have people like SN from Chennai who play the trumpet to please their colonial masters Pathetic company
