No Salary Discussion in My Appraisal — What’s Your Experience?
In my appraisal meeting, they didn’t ask or discuss my expectations about my salary or hike percentage. The entire discussion was only about feedback and performance review. After the meeting, I asked why they didn’t allow me to share my expectations or reveal my hike numbers. They told me that the hike numbers would be decided only by the owner and then they would inform me. I feel an appraisal meeting should include open discussion about both performance and future expectations. What are your thoughts? Does this happen in your company too?

Dislikes

1. Work might get monotonous after few years, since it involves dealing with customers on regular basis. 2. Onboarding process is time consuming and involves lot of paperwork. You may find some HR employees not cooperating. 3. Company has only 2 offices in entire India (Noida and Bengaluru) for design related work, making it difficult for candidates in other states to relocate permanently. 4. Remote work provision won't be there any longer. 5. Freshers shall find it difficult to cope up with the HUGE amount of learning in the first 6 months or so.

I like most of the workers and their time and care thought of for the kids. T-shirts and check ins.

Dislikes

Lights on, there should be a dimmer for kiddos or a way to cover lights. Highly distracted and not good for kids. No shorts. Shorts or skirts should be fine as long as they are not inappropriate. I think at times kids need care and they have mixed ways they try to care but, at times the business feels as if many kids may listen if able to sleep and employees should take sick days. It is not a big deal. Kids need to be heathy and safe.

Full office politics, paying very less, suddenly telling to resign, recruiting from Synopsys with high salary, current employer salary very less. Managers not giving input on time, no tracking of issues, very rarely individual is responsible for everything I stead of managers
