No Salary Discussion in My Appraisal — What’s Your Experience?
In my appraisal meeting, they didn’t ask or discuss my expectations about my salary or hike percentage. The entire discussion was only about feedback and performance review. After the meeting, I asked why they didn’t allow me to share my expectations or reveal my hike numbers. They told me that the hike numbers would be decided only by the owner and then they would inform me. I feel an appraisal meeting should include open discussion about both performance and future expectations. What are your thoughts? Does this happen in your company too?

1) There are very few career growth opportunities available. 2) Managers do not take a developmental approach; they tend to favour certain individuals. Regardless of whether these individuals truly deserve it or not, they receive on-site placements and new skill development opportunities. 3) The manager is unwilling to support the growth of capable team members who challenge his perspectives, even when he has a misunderstanding of the concepts involved. 4) There is a lack of motivation and recognition from the manager.

Flexible working hours and if team lead and project is good work life balance is also good. It is best company for those who are at the end of their career as per work life balance as it not hectic work most of the time.

Dislikes

No salary as per market standard. More things are controlled by HR department which is rare case in our software industry. Because of which good talent not joining as salary offers and raise they are giving very lower and mostly HR is involved here .

Little work life balance only.

Dislikes

Not good pay scale. Not good for learning. Most important point => Management is so cleaver, about signs bonds knowingly/Unknowingly, simply by playing with you, providing increment with condition that "if you leave before 3 years then all your increment will be recovered". So funny, they thing we are technical guys, and won't able to understand there game !

Dislikes

Salary benefits are not as per the market and market corrections made are very less and includes bond for very small amounts like 50k. The managers and project leaders are not very technically proficient and this often leads to mediocrity and less appreciation of good technical work.
