No Salary Discussion in My Appraisal — What’s Your Experience?
In my appraisal meeting, they didn’t ask or discuss my expectations about my salary or hike percentage. The entire discussion was only about feedback and performance review. After the meeting, I asked why they didn’t allow me to share my expectations or reveal my hike numbers. They told me that the hike numbers would be decided only by the owner and then they would inform me. I feel an appraisal meeting should include open discussion about both performance and future expectations. What are your thoughts? Does this happen in your company too?

...ing seems to be okay. But everything is little under valued and process is slow. If you want a basic salary and tension free work life then this can be one of the best law company. People are very simple and friendly.

Decent salary , company helped a lot during pandemic to continue WFH.

Dislikes

Unnecessary, useless stretching . Project means you must on weekends. No proper criteria for promotions in MDR department , legal associate got promoted to senior associate just after doing QA in one or two projects (This should not be the only criteria) and one senior promoted to TL by doing nothing . i have never seen that particular TL gave training in any project or took responsibility to solve any queries (these are the basic criteria to become TL). This two example shows there is no proper distribution of roles and responsibilities for each positions. No opportunity for legal associate , many potential resources not getting opportunity just for favoritisms or silly decision of the manager . No cab facility , pantry is very small.

People have started to move in other companies for below reasons, @managment if you are reading this please take necessary steps otherwise you will loose many good reviewers in near future. First, there is no growth for newcomers or experienced people even who are having 3-4 years experience. The manager does not give any opportunity , the same members are working in QA team since my joining . Manager have trust issues in terms of everything . instead of learning new things you would start to forget whatever you have learned from your previous company. The luckiest persons are Team leads here, they have got everything by doing nothing. in every project SL's get engaged in everything from starting training to QA. we do not get any help from Team leads . The manager knows how to ruin weekends, in the name of "stand by" you will end up doing nothing in the weekends. The manger send whats app messages in the mid night or early morning about login time which is very unprofessional. Even in working days, the manger makes you exhausted by waiting hours after hours and then ask to work extra time unnecessarily. in one word, manager is very fickle minded, does not know what to do next, always change instruction and whole team members suffers for the same reason. Lack of management skills, no encouragement, always tries to give blame to FLR team . Manager does not pass any inputs of protocol to save own back , always try to skip from responsibility. The target which we get is always hard to achieve by the given time. The manager expects to tag 500 documents within 3 hrs with best work product . Even in other companies the manger always do the sample but in LIO manager does not tag a single document to avoid responsibility . @MANGER if you think it is achievable kindly seat with us and show us how to do the target with quality.

Only benefit was getting comp offs for working on weekends, which again we had to take according to manager's wish

Dislikes

Poor management, instead of delegation of work ,our manager used to call and rush the works over weekends which resulted in poor work product and bad review for the resources. Without projects the manager used to micromanager everything and ruin every one working there hampering state of mind. No growth emphasis was given to the resources.
