Indian Startups

a senior executive
One of the best sources for Startup investment: DAHEJ(DOWRY)
You won't believe my senior has a good corporate job with over 10 years of experience. But suddenly resigned just a few days after his wedding. We all thought maybe he got married and wants to spend his time with his wife, and decided to go to his place to give him a proper farewell. All of us got shocked after knowing that he left because his father-in-law gifted him a fat cash amount and a car in the name of "blessings." He’s using the money to fund his startup and the car for "business movement." I mean seriously? People are now using dowry as startup capital and walking around acting like CEOs, playing boss with someone else’s money. Bas, shaadi karo aur apne sapne chalu karo, courtesy sasural. I don't know feeling inspired? Or disgusted?

WFH is permanent. Salary is competitive. Good work life balance.

Projects are all very short lived. Absolutely no job security. One day you are in a project and the next day you're not. It's not too long before suddenly your access is revoked and you get an email citing poor performance and then laid off in the blink of an eye. Hired me for a team lead role but the work was not even remotely related to that. In spite of consistency and good performance, they don't care about employee's job security. No explanation is given just sudden lay offs are a thing here.

Definitely a place to work if you want constant anxiety and job insecurity.

Dislikes

...hours/ week job from Monday to Friday and they sign you up on one year contract. But, you frequently go through 'slow down' phases where you have no work, hence no pay for those days either. Some times, new tasks for the project are available on Friday, and they expect you to work during the weekends and fill your hours. They do not pressurise you to work, but they will question it later if we do not. Most of time, we end up working for 10 to 12 hours a day, but they pay is only for 8 hours a day. There is no job security even if you are a top performer. They make you do everything. They might promote you to the pod lead or team lead positions but there is no increase in pay. The pay is very low compared to all the companies offering similar roles. They say work hours are flexible but then there might not be any work when you are available so you will end up working when they want. Despite all your efforts and time, despite being a top performer or a lead, they will just put you on 'non-billable hours' and kick you out of the organisation on all platforms without telling us that we are kicked out.

Get to work on LLM Technology but only curating RLHF and SFT Data Remote Job Earn in USD

Dislikes

Compensation among developers at Turing lacks standardization. Some developers may experience underpayment, while others receive comparatively higher compensation. It is important to note that rate fluctuations of approximately ±$20 USD for similar work are common. The client-facing team at Turing could benefit from enhanced professionalism and communication. There is a perception that some team members may not engage collaboratively with developers, which could impact team dynamics. Instances of unprofessional communication and a tendency to shift blame for project setbacks have been observed. Improving accountability and fostering a supportive work environment would be beneficial. Client is sometimes is provided with LLM generated SFT datasets and RLHF. Racial bias exists in hiring developers and promotion. Most of you will be used until replaced by developer of choice / race at same pay. Be ready to be fired anytime. No annual leaves / PTOs for contractors, however you will see Management enjoying Christmas holidays but asked to pull 2x work from Contractors during same period. Turing culture has deteriorated and doesn't look like it will be fixed anytime soon. Turing is just middle man enjoying wage arbitrage. I'll suggest LLM companies to open offshore offices to curate quality data sets than get manipulated by Turing. I'll suggest interested contractors to find a stable job and moonlight here as you know Turing can fire you anytime. Do not assume your manager is technical at all. If you don't say yes they will fire you.
