Estimation and Planning Engineer

Role & Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate and timely cost estimates for civil engineering projects, encompassing material, labor, and equipment costs as per DSR and SOR.
• Provide technical support to the tendering team throughout the bidding process.
• Analyze drawings, Bills of Quantities (BOQ), and specifications to determine project scope and estimate requirements.
• Collaborate with the purchasing team and suppliers to gather necessary data for project estimates.
• Conduct material reconciliation and oversee procurement activities.
• Review and analyze historical data, subcontractor and supplier quotations, and other documentation to formulate comprehensive estimates.
• Develop and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors for reference and collaboration.
• Utilize proficiency in estimation software and MS Excel to enhance accuracy and efficiency in estimating processes.
• Demonstrate strong analytical and mathematical skills to ensure precise cost assessments.
• Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with internal teams, suppliers, contractors, and clients.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred.
• Proven experience as an Civil Estimator or similar role in the construction or engineering industry.
• Thorough understanding of construction materials and methods.
• Familiarity with industry-standard estimation software and MS Excel.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings through AutoCAD, specifications, and BOQs.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong organizational skills with a methodical approach to tasks.
• Effective problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset.
