About the Role :

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Developer with 4-8 years of experience in mainframe development to join our client's technology team.

In this role, you will contribute to the design, coding, testing, and debugging of COBOL programs within a CICS/VSAM/JCL environment, focusing on essential banking applications, particularly in the credit card processing domain.

You will work closely with senior developers and architects to understand requirements, develop custom features, and support the entire software development lifecycle, contributing to the delivery of high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

- Software Development : Design, code, test, and debug COBOL programs in a CICS/VSAM/JCL environment as per specifications and established standards.

- Requirement Understanding : Understand the design documents and business requirements, translating them into executable code and application features.

- Team Collaboration : Collaborate effectively with Architects, Solution Analysts, SMEs, and senior team members to ensure the development of accurate and efficient solutions.

- Estimation Support : Assist in creating estimates for assigned development tasks.

- Code Development & Analysis : Analyze and develop code as per specifications, ensuring adherence to quality standards.

- Deployment Support : Support production deployment activities and assist with post-development implementation tasks.

- Application Support : Provide application support as necessary, responding to and resolving issues.

- Incident Participation : Participate in crisis calls for production incidents, assisting in issue diagnosis and resolution.

- Performance Awareness : Contribute to identifying opportunities for system performance improvement.

- Continuous Learning : Actively participate in continuous learning and skill development, absorbing knowledge from senior team members.

Required Qualifications :

- Experience : 4-8 years of hands-on experience in mainframe application development and maintenance.

- Banking Domain : Experience in the development and maintenance of banking applications, ideally within credit card processing.

- VisionPLUS Exposure : Strong knowledge of the VisionPLUS product suite.

- CMS Module : Strong hands-on working knowledge in the CMS (Card Management System) module within VisionPLUS.

- Mainframe Technologies : Strong hands-on working knowledge of COBOL, CICS, VSAM, and JCL.

- Online Systems : Strong knowledge of CICS online and VisionPLUS online environments.

- Problem Solving : Experience in design and development of medium complexity problems.

- DevOps & Agile : Good knowledge and experience of DevOps principles and Agile discipline.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Exposure to VMx / WINGSFM.

- Participation in technical discussions for small projects.

Skills :

- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).

- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
