Senior Engineer (Mathematical Modeler)

Overall Purpose of the Job:

To provide analytical support for Group Engineering development and operational activities in a safe, professional, efficient and cost-effective manner.

Principal Accountabilities:

1. Help review, identify gaps and develop mathematical models to support a number of Expros product lines with the aim of providing reliable data for service delivery and performance prediction for client jobs.

2. To provide mathematical support analytical model development including formula development and analysis

3. Able to work effectively within a wide range of Physical and Engineering disciplines.

4. Generate IP (intellectual property) that will help improve the performance of the CaTS systems and strengthen the companys commercial position.

5. Perform laboratory experiments.

6. Ensure that projects are adequately documented and that archived information, e.g. data, analysis and calculations, is both comprehensive and accessible.

7. Perform internal or external (contractual) studies as requested by line manager.

8. To assist in the regular execution of Finite Element modelling of physical situations using tools such as Comsol.

9. To ensure that the requirements of the quality management system are complied with in all respects.

10. Assist in the development and implementation of written procedures to manage analytical activities.

11. Desirable experience using Visual Basic, Python, Comsol , analysis of environmental sensor data , physical fluid dynamics modelling or chemical analysis background

12. Accountable for safety and adherence to Expro HSE procedures at all times.

Job Context and Main Activities:

1The job holder reports directly to the Engineering Manager and is responsible for carrying out analytical activities within Group Engineering. To Interact with other specialist disciplines within Group engineering and Product lines to ensure the successful delivery of Expro's services based on their mathematical models and modelling analysis.

Job Knowledge and Experience: :

1. To ensure a rigorous approach to investigation.

2. Degree in Physics, Engineering or Mathematics with experience of modelling real world senor-based systems

3. The ability to model physical situations

4. A background in supporting other multidisciplinary engineering development teams with modelling and data analysis.
