Head - Maintenance (L&T Valves)

Role & responsibilities

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Head of Maintenance to lead our plant maintenance strategy and execution. The ideal candidate will ensure optimal functioning of all machinery and utilities, implement modern maintenance practices, and contribute to our sustainability and compliance goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance & Asset Management

• Lead a multidisciplinary maintenance team with electrical and mechanical competencies.
• Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance strategies.
• Drive TPM implementation to enhance equipment availability and uptime.
• Monitor critical assets using modern tools and methods; drive root cause analysis for failures.

Facilities, Utilities & Projects

• Oversee plant utilities (HVAC, compressed air, water, power) and building maintenance.
• Execute layout changes, infrastructure upgrades, and civil/fabrication projects as per business needs.
• Plan and manage CAPEX projects aligned with statutory, EHS, and operational requirements.

Vendor Development & Cost Optimization

• Develop and manage reliable vendors and service providers for equipment, spares, and facility maintenance.
• Negotiate AMC contracts and ensure cost-effective service delivery.

Compliance, Audits & Documentation

• Manage all statutory and internal/external audits related to plant engineering and safety.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation for ISO, safety, energy, and environmental audits.
• Ensure compliance with statutory norms, including land and infrastructure-related regulatory matters.

Sustainability & Energy Efficiency

• Identify and implement energy conservation and carbon reduction initiatives.
• Conduct energy audits and ensure adherence to corporate EHS and sustainability targets.
• Promote renewable energy projects (e.g., solar) and reporting of KPIs.

Stakeholder Collaboration & CSR

• Collaborate with Production, Safety, Projects, HR, and Quality teams to ensure smooth plant operations.
• Lead CSR project execution related to infrastructure and community support, in alignment with company goals.

Team Leadership & Development

• Mentor and coach team members for continuous learning and performance improvement.
• Foster a culture of safety, discipline, and accountability.
• Ensure team skill development and succession planning.

Preferred candidate profile

• The incumbent should be a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical /related field)
• 15+ years of relevant experience in plant maintenance, utilities, and infrastructure
• Strong knowledge of TPM, energy management, and statutory compliance
• Proven leadership and people development skills
