The ideal candidate will possess in-depth expertise in industrial relations, long-term settlements, union negotiations, and compliance with labour laws. This role demands a proactive leader who can engage effectively with both internal and external unions while ensuring full statutory compliance across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all employee relations matters, including long-term wage settlements and union negotiations.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the management and both internal and external union representatives.
- Formulate and execute effective negotiation strategies aligned with business objectives and legal frameworks.
- Maintain a harmonious industrial relations environment through consistent and open communication with all stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of current developments, amendments, and trends in labour and employment laws at central and state levels.
- Ensure 100% compliance with applicable labour legislations (Factories Act, Industrial Disputes Act, Trade Unions Act, etc.).
- Coordinate with legal advisors and government bodies for handling notices, inspections, and legal proceedings.
- Drive awareness and adherence to HR and compliance policies across locations.
- Manage grievance redressal mechanisms and disciplinary proceedings as per company policies and legal requirements.
- Train HR teams and line managers on labour law compliance, union handling, and best practices in employee relations.
- Contribute to policy development, audits, and risk assessments relating to industrial relations and compliance.
Key Requirements:
- Masters degree in Human Resources, Labour Laws, or related discipline.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in employee relations and industrial relations, in a manufacturing and unionized environment.
- Proven track record of leading successful long-term settlements and union negotiations.
- Strong understanding of Indian labour laws and compliance requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage complex ER situations with composure and tact.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Drive effective liaisoning activities with governmental bodies
