Data center experience is preferred, not mandatory.
Operations Excellence:
- Ensure zero-downtime, 100% SLA adherence and unrelenting customer focus across all data centres.
- Prepare and own operational budgets (capex & opex) for the function and drive optimization initiatives including continuous PUE improvements.
- Drive efficient capacity planning of assets and manage their lifecycle including replacement.
- Establish/ refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), MOP, EOP, Whitepapers/ best practices, and ensure strict compliance, fostering a culture of operational excellence.
- Lead Physical Security Team to ensure best in class security of all data centre sites as per defined processes.
- Work closely with the EHS team to implement EHS policies & procedures, training and awareness.
- Responsible for implementation of various ISO standards (including ISO 27001, 9001, 20001, 22001, 45001 etc) and global certifications.
- Lead Cyber Security of the Data Centre Assets.
- Frontend the audits by internal/ external auditors to demonstrate the strong compliance and governance.
- Participate actively and lead by example in initiatives, programs and campaigns around, ESG, EHS, Cyber Security etc
- Responsible for risk management and mitigation as well as leading the response to crisis situations.
- Lead companys digitization journey to automate processes, improve predictability & optimize cost.
- Participate in vendor/ supplier selection process and manage their performance throughout the contract period.
- Plan and execute the rollout of operational teams, systems and vendors in new data centres. Ensure smooth handover from construction to operational phase of new data centres.
Customer / Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain excellent relationships with our key customers and external stakeholders including parent company, critical facility management partners, equipment suppliers.
- Responsible for leading QBRs and other operational reviews and audits with our customers
- Review and participate in new data centre design efforts by the Engineering Team and also support Construction Team in sharing customer/ market inputs
- Lead the customer solutioning functions for incoming customer configuration (e.g. white space fit outs, deployment planning, cross-connects)
- Collaborate with cross functional teams including Business Development, Products, Solutioning, Engineering, Construction, ESG, EHS, Finance & Compliances.
Team Management:
- Manage a large pool of distributed on-roll & off-roll teams and drive them to achieve key goals & priorities.
- Lead by example and inspire a culture of operational excellence through strategic and hands-on leadership.
Requirements:
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Relevant work experience in managing large & distributed hyperscale data centre operations.
- Good knowledge in data centre operational excellence, engineering operations in service and operational management of critical MEP infrastructure, ITIL or similar frameworks, maintenance management, engineering and commissioning within data centres.
- In depth understanding of technical matters, mechanical and electrical systems, controls and monitoring aspects of a mission critical 24/7 data centre.
- Practical experience delivering business continuity, risk management, incident management, problem management and change management & control in a mission critical 24/7 environment.
- Experience in people management, operating expense management, vendor management
- Ability to be hands-on in leading during emergencies.
- Manage incident and problem resolution in the stakeholder communications.
- Excellent communication skills (written and spoken).
