Biggest -ve would be the work life balance, No matter your WO or leaves whole day you'll have something in your plate left to do your manger may not ask you to do work outside store but you'll do yourself to grow . After devoting 4 years to this company i am kinda stuck at same role not able to perform really well or change it to other sectors of decathlon. First salary regardless of role is very good but the increment is very very hard to get unless you have done something extraordinary (5-7% in avg hike). 5 is what I got with average performance. With my current skills that i have learnt within organisation an Dept.Mamager in Decathalon can easily get Store manager in other small brands with much higher salary say 50-70% hike which is what my knowns are getting. It's the case with DMs only since for further roles(Operations,SM,Retail manager) the basic salary has been increased by 20%. You'll also see biasness is name of Gender diversity, i have seen females with less skill set getting much better opportunity to their male counterparts who may have higher skill/experience or even performance still, Decathalon has to promote women leaders this is evident with a lot new female Dept. Managers being promoted earlier if you've decent skill/performance also with new connect type store (small size) opening we can see more women store managers or if you coming for recruitment chances of female getting hired is much higher. It would feel like an extended college life for freshers. Amazing colleagues but the seniority would be pathetic.
They will use young talents at a bare minimum salary and the moment you ask for appraisal they will keep you working at the same salary or 2-5% hikes and you will be mentally and financially broke 3-4 years later you will move to point where you will decide to quit. Their strategy is to hire young talents and exploit their energy and finally flush them out when they ask for more.

The culture is strong around sports and the values are very clear from the top management to the bottom management.
New projects are usually launched with unfinished outlines. Very KPI centric. Teammates are overburdened with too many additional responsibilities to focus on their primary role. The appraisals are very "Manager" perspective focused, meaning, despite you doing your utmost best, if you are not well versed with how to document and present to your manager, you won't get any appraisal. Most of the times, teammates are busy fulfilling their additional responsibilities and that leaves them lacking in primary ones. Leading to the manager questioning the KPIs. And if the teammate is focused on primary job and not able to take additional responsibilities, then the manager will question the teammates' motivation.
