I was in retail banking, the learning was good but mostly aligned to sales irrespective of the profile a person is handling.

Employees are treated like sales agents, HR policies are a joke. Irrespective of the position you are hired for, your ultimate job role will be to coerce/misguide a customer for cross selling. This mis-selling strategy is driven from top. I have seen so many colleagues of mine leave due to moral conflict. If a person does not obeysthe 'verbal order', they are transferred to rural branches or sent on deputation disturbing their life. The seniors enjoy promotions, kickbacks in cash and kind but the juniors who actually follow the strict order get suspended or face legal actions due to mis-selling.
