No Salary Discussion in My Appraisal — What’s Your Experience?
In my appraisal meeting, they didn’t ask or discuss my expectations about my salary or hike percentage. The entire discussion was only about feedback and performance review. After the meeting, I asked why they didn’t allow me to share my expectations or reveal my hike numbers. They told me that the hike numbers would be decided only by the owner and then they would inform me. I feel an appraisal meeting should include open discussion about both performance and future expectations. What are your thoughts? Does this happen in your company too?

Only job security is the good thing.

Dislikes

...requirements and focuses on non essential things. Appraisal system is very poor. Here fresher gets the same or more salary as compared to the experienced ones.

Everything is wrong in the organization. If you are good at butter polishing and bad mouthing others, you will survive. If you do not have an opinion and agree blindly and follow blindly whatever your HOD says, you are good to go. Appraisals and increment depend on your relation with your reporting head. Extended working hours. Working on holidays without compensation. Biases and prejudice based on gender and caste.

Big brand, timely salary deposited otherwise nothing liked

Dislikes

Almost everything Boot licker management who have lost their conscience, safety and employee friendly policies in papers but nothing is actually implemented or hiding from employees. Highly partiality in management during increment or appreciation either you work or not or having zero performance only show that you are active. ED asked team members to work 12 hrs or more duty. No leave as per your requirement either you are seriously ill. No insurance claim you can do. I was stucked for the years in same position. I will suggest everyone either fresher or experienced do not join. Else due to poorest work culture you may regret badly afterjoining as I do.

Job security, as no one is following up the work unless it is critical

Dislikes

1. Very poor appraisal cycle, they hire employees as trainees in somewhat good package and afterwards management drags the increment in such a manner that new joinees and experienced old employees fall on the same salary structure. 2. Politics is way high in many departments, managers & AGM don't show up their subordinates work to the hire management, eats up whole credit & appraisal of the work. 3. Policies are very stringent, they don't care about employees & they only show sympathy. Policies of the company benefitted older employees, new joinees suffer a lot in promotion as they don't share the policies transparently. 4. Management don't appreciate hard working employees, those who work hard will continue to grind, and those who don't work and chilled out, both will get more or less same appraisal at the end, bootlickers even get more appraisal than hard workers. 5. Roles & responsibilities are not properly defined hence junior level employees suffers. 6. Those who have higher packages, don't have enough skill sets.

Good only for the initial start journey. For learning a new skills regarding power distribution sector.

Dislikes

Salaries are not as per the value of engineers. Salary revision is not done. After 3 years you feel like the salary packages are same for new recruits and you.
