No Salary Discussion in My Appraisal — What’s Your Experience?
In my appraisal meeting, they didn’t ask or discuss my expectations about my salary or hike percentage. The entire discussion was only about feedback and performance review. After the meeting, I asked why they didn’t allow me to share my expectations or reveal my hike numbers. They told me that the hike numbers would be decided only by the owner and then they would inform me. I feel an appraisal meeting should include open discussion about both performance and future expectations. What are your thoughts? Does this happen in your company too?

There is absolutely nothing to like about this company—it's hands down the worst place I’ve ever worked. The current CTO, who used to be the VP, is by far the most incompetent and credit-hungry person I’ve come across. If something goes well, he’s the first to take the credit; if anything goes wrong, he blames everyone else just to save face. The so-called leads, HR, and other team members are just puppets with zero authority—everything bends in favor of the CEO. The CTO’s English is so embarrassingly poor that even Google Translate would crash trying to make sense of it—honestly, a donkey speaks better. He has absolutely no respect for juniors or seniors

...rk 24/7, 365 days a year like a robot. They run internship programs where they with big lies about job offers but never offer any confirmation for full-time roles. Most of the old employees have already left, and more are leaving every day. If you value your mental and physical health, do not join this company. Money isn’t everything—this place will destroy your peace. Choose wisely.

Everything, 1. CTO/CPO demonstrates abusive behavior, frequently making late night calls, blatant disrespect to juniors, and lacking basic manners in communication 2. Promotion is on basis of favoritism rather than merit or hard work 3. The Product team fosters a toxic environment where they don't care about your opinion, unsurprising that team members leave within 3 months, unless they actively strive to appease the team head. Lastly Mr. RS, Ms. SA & Mr. SS get a life

This place is basically a smaller version of byjus, with the same t0xic work culture you might have heard about. The team is filled with ex-byjus employees, personally chosen by a VP (now CTO) who comes from a sales background but is now in charge of tech. They only support each other, and you are only serv@nt for them. They will not help you, but bl@me you in case anything gets wrong. They neither have skill nor mindset of leader, but are given lead position due to favourit ism.

These guys get a huge amount of money, but are unable to justify their impact, so they humili@te you in front of others so you look d@mb and they appear smarter. Don't believe it? just check their past employees and job duration. Don't fall for their WFH trap and sorabh, dipuk, nundi are some t0xic peeps you should avoid at all.

Nothing, Expect extremely long working hours with little to no recognition for your efforts. Despite any title you hold, you’ll essentially be a "fake lead," as decisions are heavily influenced by those favored by the CEO. If you’re considering joining, understand that you’ll be on your own, and your manager won’t have the power to support you.

Everything, The VP Eng. holds much amount of power and often meddles in areas like QA and Product, even though from the Eng team. The troubling part is that when things go wrong, blame is shifted to the QA team to protect own. Several people have faced this.
