Interview Preparation Tips

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - I had three rounds of interview at Anand Rathi. First two rounds were so really great and the interviewers were also really appealing. On third round one senior head from Mumbai Office interviewed me and he was really rude and was embarrassing. He was not ready to listen to anything that I was trying to say rather be was fixated on the fact that I am from Kerala and that I can't speak Hindi fluently. His concern was the clients in Pune would be speaking Hindi and so I will not be he suitable person. I didn't get this fully as the clients of Anand rathi is High Net worth Individuals and they not knowing Spoken English is not something that is believable. Also Hindi may not be my mother tongue but Hindi is the mandatory language we learn in Kerala and so speaking, writing and understanding Hindi is not a problem for us but I may not be as fluent as them. I tried to say all of this and I even tried to say it's just a matter of 1 month for me to brush up this language as it is not an alien language. But he continues to be rude and was even being rude at HR infront of me in Google meet. Further the fun part is, I called HR for the feedback and she said we are not hiring as I am not fluent in Hindi but will definitely call when there is a vacancy at Chennai office, as I am going to speak their level of fluently in Tamil. So they think of us as Madrasis is clear. It was not a rational way of rejecting I feel.

Interview Preparation Tips

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - This job is basically of clerical nature where you will be doing all operational stuff like Filling RTGS forms for fund transfer, deal execution, client query Management, preparation of Portfolio summary of client at month end and all other operational jobs.

If you are looking for equity research/ PMS then this job is not relevant. As in ARWL the investment is done in Equity and debt MFs and MLD's. So you won't be learning Portfolio management or doing any stock research.

So this is monotonous and clerical job. If you are not interested in operational job then can go in product team (Equity MF) but then salary would be less than AM salary.

ChatGPT prepped me HARD for my interview!
Spent like two hours on chatgpt yesterday prepping for an interview. First, the usual, copy-pasted my resume and the job description, telling it to "upload this to your memory 'cause we are going to talk about it later". Then I grilled it with questions about stuff I didn't get in the job spec, and chatgpt helped me figure things out. I asked it to list the four or five key things they are looking for in the role. Then I told chatgpt to quiz me with ten questions, one at a time, to help me think about how I have gained experience in those areas. After the ten questions, it gave me strengths/weaknesses and a summary. Finally, I had chatgpt summarize each of my answers into three bullet points. Now have got a list of stories ready to go for any interview. No matter the question, I can steer the convo toward one of these success stories.
