Role description:
The company, led by a first-generation entrepreneur, has successfully carved out a niche & gained significant share against both Indian & MNC FMCG behemoths in a short period of time & built scale that's unprecedented in recent times. The company is now looking for a young, ambitious CMO to move into the next orbit.
As the CMO of this not-so-young startup, you will be a leader of the team responsible for telling the world the story of our brands. You will craft the strategy for not only the current portfolio of brands; you will also chart the course for expanding the portfolio in the near future by way of new product launches/ brand extensions. You will lead not only marketing & communication; you will drive the brand's foray into digital marketing & e-commerce. You will have the unique opportunity to leave create a legacy; something that only startups that have achieved scale can offer.
Key Results Areas:
- Manage the brand P&L and partner with all business functions to deliver organization goals and objectives.
- Develop marketing strategy by studying economic indicators; tracking changes in supply and demand; identifying customers and their current and future needs; and monitoring competition.
- Grow market share by developing marketing plans and programs for each product and directing promotional support.
- Provides short- and long-term market forecasts and reports by directing market research collection, analysis, and interpretation of market data.
- Influence the present and future products by determining and evaluating current and future market trends.
- Develop new uses for existing products by analyzing statistics regarding market development; acquiring and analyzing data; and consulting with internal and external sources.
- Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
- Build a world-class marketing team; provide them with training & guidance.
- Manage corporate communication & PR for the portfolio of brand as well as corporate.
Essential Criteria:
- MBA in Marketing from a top-tier b-school
- 10-15 years of experience in marketing; including 2-3 years leading a team
