Job Title : Assistant Manager - Statutory Compliance - Legal
Job Summary :
We are looking for a diligent and detail-oriented Assistant Manager - Statutory Compliance - Legal to join our dynamic legal team. This position is ideal for someone with experience in statutory compliance, especially in the IT/ITES industry. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the company adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Statutory Compliance Management: Ensure the companys operations are in full compliance with all relevant statutory, legal, and regulatory requirements across various jurisdictions. This includes monitoring and ensuring compliance with labor laws, tax regulations, data protection laws, and industry-specific regulations.
- Regulatory Reporting: Assist in the preparation and submission of all necessary filings, reports, and documentation required by governmental bodies, regulatory authorities, and other compliance agencies.
- Internal Compliance Audits: Conduct regular internal audits to assess compliance status and ensure that the company is adhering to legal and regulatory obligations. Prepare reports and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
- Legal Guidance: Provide legal counsel to various internal teams regarding compliance-related matters, including contract compliance, licensing, and corporate governance.
- Contract & Document Review: Review contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to ensure compliance with statutory regulations and company policies.
- Compliance Monitoring Tools: Utilize compliance management tools to track and manage compliance activities, deadlines, and documentation.
- Training & Awareness: Conduct training sessions for internal teams to raise awareness about statutory compliance requirements and corporate governance.
- Risk Management: Assist in identifying potential compliance risks and proactively working on strategies to mitigate them.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including HR, Finance, and Operations, to ensure the company maintains compliance across all areas of its business operations.
Qualifications:
Education : Law Graduate from a reputable College/University. Additional certifications or courses in statutory compliance or regulatory law will be a plus.
Experience : 4 to 6 years of experience in statutory compliance, preferably in the IT/ITES sector or a similar industry. Industry Knowledge: A strong understanding of statutory compliance requirements, including labor laws, corporate regulations, tax laws, and other industry-specific rules.
- Communication Skills : Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- In-House Experience: Experience working as part of an in-house legal team or in a corporate environment is preferred.
- Compliance Management Tools: Familiarity with compliance management software and tools for tracking and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
Skills:
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with a methodical and organized approach to managing compliance documentation and deadlines.
- Legal Research: Strong legal research skills and the ability to interpret complex regulatory and legal materials.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify compliance issues and develop practical solutions.
- Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and with various stakeholders.
- Time Management: Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple compliance tasks and priorities.
