No Salary Discussion in My Appraisal — What’s Your Experience?

In my appraisal meeting, they didn’t ask or discuss my expectations about my salary or hike percentage. The entire discussion was only about feedback and performance review. After the meeting, I asked why they didn’t allow me to share my expectations or reveal my hike numbers. They told me that the hike numbers would be decided only by the owner and then they would inform me. Very bad on salary, culture, promotion, appraisal and HR people. HR people not cooperative with employees,do not reply after multiple times chasing on mail and call for urgent work.

BNP Paribas carries good brand legacy to begin with. Adequate job security once you gets permanent. Since its an European bank, it has policy of announcing bonus every year, which is roughly 10-15% of yearly CTC.

For freshers they provide excellent training programs and good package as well. Work culture is also friendly.

Dislikes

They will put you in PIP when cost cutting will happen. There is no job security here. Also once you leave the company, you cannot join any other Bank or Bank supporting company like SBI or TCS or TechM due to their Non-poaching agreement for 1 year. No individual employee benefits. You can not talk to HR directly. They sit in secret room.
