GF salary Vs. My salary
Me and my gf have been dating for 5 years. Back in 2020, I started my career with a package of ₹5 LPA. Over the years, I’ve reached ₹22 LPA in 2025. She started her journey with ₹3 LPA(2020) and is now earning ₹8 LPA(2025). We’ve been in a live-in relationship for around 2 years, and the idea was to share expenses equally. But, equal sharing never really happened. If we go to a café she likes, especially with friends, I will pay the entire bill. We only split the house rent and grocery bills. I told her lots of time to cut down these costly cafe expenses or earn more money, increase your package, study and work hard, but.....she is now in her comfort zone. Being from a tech background, I have seen people upgrade their skills and package for a good life in metro cities. I am ready to support her in her studies, but she is like I am earning enough for myself.... No, you are not. I love her, but I don't know how to overcome this issue between us. Please suggest!

Things which I liked -: Professionalism Annual Bonus Annual leaves Lot's of data handling (not that much like though) Things which I liked but didn't show any expression outside 😆 -: Acting of the assigned manager 🤪. Manager is a drama king / queen. I enjoy the acting on a daily basis which motivates me to work here.

Things that I disliked -: 1. Job 2. No free / subsidised food 3. Company policies are a ton of shit. Too much regulation and restrictions. Feels like working inside a jail 😖 Things that I disliked the most -: The manager that was assigned. Too much acting, drama , childish behaviour. Expects employee to behave professionally but doesn't behave professionally with the employees assigned to him/her. But again, it is this acting which motivates me to interact with my manager daily and stay in this job. Really an awesome experience within a bank where there aren't any recreational activities across the floors. Only work , work and work 😞.

Working with HSBC gives you reasonable work life balance. They are focusing on skills and development of their employees. The higher management seems cool and we can express ourselves to our managers. The work culture is also good and i have noticed that most of the employees working in my department worked with the company for a long time which shows it is capable of managing people better.

The culture and free hand given to try out things. Responsibility is given at an early stage to lead meetings and come up with ideas to execute in new projects.

Promotion cycle is not good. They have no transparency. The scope to learn more in analytics is limited as HSBC is a bank and they have legacy systems are the major senior stakeholders are not very interested in the latest technologies and innovations.
