Q. Why is aluminum less suitable for laser cutting?
Ans.

Aluminium is less suitable for laser cutting due to its high reflectivity and thermal conductivity.

  • Aluminium has a high reflectivity, which means it reflects a significant amount of laser energy instead of absorbing it.

  • Its high thermal conductivity causes the heat generated during laser cutting to quickly dissipate, making it difficult to achieve precise cuts.

  • Aluminium also forms an oxide layer on its surface, whi...

Q. What will happen if the coefficient of friction keeps increasing in a rolling process?
Ans.

Increasing coefficient of friction in rolling process will result in increased resistance and reduced efficiency.

  • Increased coefficient of friction leads to increased resistance between the rolling object and the surface it is rolling on.

  • This increased resistance results in more energy being lost as heat and less energy being transferred to useful work.

  • The rolling process becomes less efficient as more force is req...

Q. What is the strain in the x-direction after drawing a 3D stress block?
Ans.

The strain in x direction cannot be determined without additional information.

  • The 3D stress block only provides information about the stress components in the x, y, and z directions.

  • To determine the strain in a specific direction, additional information such as the material's elastic modulus and Poisson's ratio is needed.

  • The strain can be calculated using the formula: strain = stress / (elastic modulus * (1 + Pois...

A Digital Markter
Nailed the interview, still rejected
Just had the BEST interview ever – super positive and encouraging! But got rejected. Interviewer said I was the most prepared, knew it was a full-time role (unlike others), and loved my answers. One of my questions was even called "the best ever asked!" He showed me around, said I was exactly what they wanted, and would get back by Friday. I was so hyped! Then today, I got the rejection email. No reason given, just "went with someone else." Feels bad when your best isn't enough. Anyone else been there? How'd you cope?
