CAD Customization Engineer - SolidWorks/CATIA (3-5 yrs)

Responsibilities :

- Develop and implement custom tools, scripts, and applications within various CAD software platforms (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, NX).

- Utilize CAD APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) such as AutoLISP, VBA, .NET, Python, or specific CAD platform APIs to

automate repetitive tasks and extend CAD functionality.

- Analyze existing CAD workflows and identify opportunities for customization and automation to improve efficiency and accuracy.

- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to understand their specific needs and develop tailored CAD solutions.

- Design and develop user interfaces (UIs) for custom CAD applications to ensure user-friendliness and ease of use.

- Integrate custom CAD solutions with other enterprise systems (e.g., PLM, ERP) as required.

- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for custom CAD tools and workflows.

- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to custom CAD applications and scripts.

- Test and validate custom CAD solutions to ensure they meet functional requirements and performance standards.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest CAD software versions, API updates, and industry best practices in CAD customization.

- Provide training and support to end-users on custom CAD tools and workflows.

- Participate in the evaluation and implementation of new CAD software and customization tools.

Required Skills :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, or a related field.

- 3-5 years of professional experience in CAD customization and automation.

- Strong programming skills in at least one of the following : AutoLISP, VBA, .NET (C#, VB.NET), Python.

- Hands-on experience working with the APIs of at least one major CAD software platform (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, NX).

- Solid understanding of engineering design principles and workflows.

- Experience in developing user interfaces for CAD applications.

- Ability to analyze user needs and translate them into effective technical solutions.

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with multiple CAD software platforms.

- Knowledge of database systems (e.g., SQL).

- Experience with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) or ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system integration.

- Familiarity with geometric modeling concepts and algorithms.

- Experience with creating CAD standards and libraries.

- Knowledge of CAD data management best practices
