Windows Administrator - Server Infrastructure (5-10 yrs)

Responsibilities :

- Manage and maintain the health, performance, and availability of our Windows Server infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers.

- Implement and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices to safeguard our Windows environment from internal and external threats.

- Administer and maintain Active Directory (AD) services, including user and group management, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), DNS, and DHCP.

- Plan, implement, and test comprehensive backup and recovery strategies to ensure business continuity and data integrity.

- Monitor system performance using various tools, identify bottlenecks, and implement proactive measures for optimization.

- Troubleshoot and resolve complex Windows Server-related issues, providing timely and effective solutions.

- Plan and execute server upgrades, migrations, and patching in accordance with change management processes.

- Implement and manage virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) within the Windows Server environment.

- Automate routine administrative tasks using PowerShell scripting to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.

- Manage and maintain file and print services, ensuring appropriate access and security.

- Implement and manage network services related to the Windows environment, including TCP/IP configuration and troubleshooting.

- Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and support of business applications.

- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for Windows Server infrastructure, configurations, and procedures.

- Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing exercises.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest Windows Server technologies, security updates, and industry best practices.

- Participate in an on-call rotation for critical system support.

Required Skills :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- 5-10 years of progressive experience in Windows Server administration.

- Expert-level knowledge of Windows Server operating systems.

- Deep understanding and hands-on experience with Active Directory (AD) design, implementation, and management.

- Proven ability to manage and configure Group Policy Objects (GPOs) effectively.

- Extensive experience with server virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V).

- Strong proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and system administration tasks.

- Comprehensive knowledge of TCP/IP networking, DNS, and DHCP.

- Solid understanding of server hardware, storage solutions, and performance monitoring tools.

- Proven experience in implementing and managing backup and recovery solutions.

- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a systematic approach.

- Strong understanding of security best practices for Windows Server environments.

- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as a senior member of a collaborative team.

Preferred Skills :

- Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSA: Windows Server, MCSE: Core Infrastructure).

- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and their Windows Server offerings.

- Knowledge of other scripting languages (e.g., Python).

- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., SCCM, Ansible).

- Familiarity with ITIL framework and change management processes.

- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, SCOM).

- Knowledge of disaster recovery planning and implementation in a hybrid or cloud environment
