- RTO 5 days a week is mandatory and completely useless when working with remote teams. - Work pressure is high. - Less engineering work and more docs, approvals, reviews: less autonomy. - If you join a US team, you will have to take meetings at odd hours. - The surrounding city area is a traffic hotspot

In Amazon, I get to work on various techs like AWS, and mostly teams work on full stack projects. So, we get exposure on frontend and backend techs.

Dislikes

The work life balance is very bad, also there is constant pressure from management to complete the tasks, otherwise there is constant fear of losing the job.

The implementation of a somewhat arbitrary 14-point policy is noticeable, selectively enforced based on convenience. The quality of group meetings is subpar. Amazon has high standard when it comes to running your services and applications in production. Developers are supposed to be the first line of defence in case of a mishap which allows them to work with senior product managers, senior technical product managers etc. which is a great learning experience.
