Key Responsibilities of an SAP GTS Consultant:

1. Requirement Gathering & Analysis:
   
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand global trade and compliance needs.
  
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications.
  
2. System Configuration & Implementation:
   
• Configure SAP GTS components: Compliance Management, Customs Management, Risk Management, and Electronic Compliance Reporting.
  
• Integrate GTS with core SAP ERP modules (like SD, MM) and external systems (customs authorities, logistics providers).
  
3. Compliance & Risk Management:
   
• Set up embargo checks, SPL (Sanctioned Party List) screening, legal control, and license management.
  
• Monitor trade risks and ensure document accuracy.
  
4. Customs Management:
   
• Automate customs declaration processes.
  
• Manage bonded warehouse operations and transit procedures.
  
5. Support & Troubleshooting:
   
• Provide post-go-live support and troubleshoot system issues.
  
• Handle change requests and optimize existing GTS setups.
  
6. Documentation & Training:
   
• Create user manuals and configuration documents.
  
• Train end-users and internal teams.
  

🛠️ Core Skills and Tools:

• SAP Modules: SAP GTS (all components), SAP ECC or S/4HANA (especially SD/MM/LE)
  
• Technical Knowledge: Integration with SAP PI/PO, IDoc handling, debugging (for techno-functional consultants)
  
• Compliance Knowledge: Export/import controls, ECCN, HTS codes, AES filing, SPL screening
  
• Soft Skills: Analytical thinking, communication, project coordination, client handling
