Job Description:

The incumbent would be responsible for the following: 1. Availability of tools and dies for production - Ensure on time availability of New/ Re-conditioning press tools and die-casting tools as per plan - Ensure on time availability of New/ Re-conditioning press tools and die-casting tools as per plan - Ensure document control & availability at desired locations 2. Breakdown Reduction & life improvement - Ask details - Tool breakdown reduction and life improvement 3. Continual Product & Process Improvements - Planning & scheduling of various sections (design, manufacturing, inspection, assembly, stores etc.) for smooth & efficient functioning of the department - Designing review of tools and dies for existing products and NPD - Manufacturing press tools and die casting dies by optimum utilization of existing facilities - Identify & implement product & process improvements 4. Tooling budget management - Plan, Monitor and utilize CAPEX and REVEX budget - Vendor development to support tool room activities 5. Organizational Imperatives - Maintaining shop floor discipline & safe work environment - Driving change-management initiatives like GRACE; TPM, Business Excellence, and Behaviour based Safety (BBS) - Preparing skill matrix, rolling plan for training and skill development
