Phamacist/Nursing/Doctors Background -Trainee Medical Coding

Job Title: Nursing Trainee Medical Coding Location: TRV

Reports To: Coding Supervisor Job Summary: We are seeking nursing graduates or nursing students interested in transitioning into the medical coding field. As a Nursing Trainee in Medical Coding, you will be trained to review clinical documentation and apply standardized medical codes using ICD-10-CM & ICD-10-PCS codes.. Your clinical background will support accurate interpretation of patient records to ensure compliance and optimized billing processes in inpatient medical coding settings.

Key Responsibilities: • Undergo structured training in ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding systems. • Learn to analyze and interpret clinical documentation for coding purposes. • Assist in assigning appropriate medical codes to diagnoses, procedures, and treatments. • Raise queries to the providers for documentation clarity/integrity. • Collaborate with senior coders and healthcare providers to clarify documentation when needed. • Gain proficiency in using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and coding software. • Support quality assurance by participating in audits and coding validation checks. • Follow HIPAA and other compliance standards regarding patient information. • Stay updated with coding guidelines and healthcare regulations. Qualifications:

• Education: Diploma or Degree in Nursing (GNM, B.Sc Nursing, etc.) • Experience: No prior experience in medical coding required; clinical or hospital experience is a plus. • Skills: o Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology. o Good analytical and problem-solving skills. o Willingness to learn and adapt to a technical healthcare environment. o Attention to detail and accuracy. o Basic computer literacy. Training Provided: • Introduction to medical coding systems (ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS). • Use of coding tools and software. • Regulatory and compliance training. • Hands-on practice with sample clinical cases.
