Job Summary:
We are looking for experienced TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) Experts to strengthen the performance of government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) by aligning training delivery with industry requirements and emerging technologies. The expert will collaborate closely with ITI principals, faculty, industry partners, and government officials to identify institutional gaps, design strategic solutions, and implement impactful interventions. This role requires practical experience in conceptualizing and executing infrastructure development projects and training-related initiatives, with a strong focus on quality assurance, timely implementation, and effective stakeholder coordination.
Essential Functions of the Job:
Developing concepts
- Identify areas of improvement in TVET ecosystem of the state and accordingly develop documents like SOP, Guidelines, reports and concept notes ITI modernization, Centre of Excellence (CoE) projects
Demand mapping and design project
- Map local and regional industry demand by engaging with employers, industry associations, and chambers of commerce.
- Visit different ITIs at district and Taluka level to identify the gaps at institute level and develop mitigation strategies and projects to address those gaps
Design and Implement CSR project
- Onboard new CSR partners for modernise the training institutions and implement joint programs
- Designed and implemented CSR projects in the education and skilling sector
Industry relationship
- Identify prospective industry partners to collaborate with them under PPP and support the client in establishing the partnership with industry partners
- Implement Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects, particularly in education and infrastructure
Understanding of emerging technologies
- Identify current and emerging job roles across sectors (e.g., EV, logistics, healthcare, renewable energy) and accordingly develop plan of action to support dept in creating industry ready manpower
Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with technical departments, vendors, Industry SPOCs, World Bank and government officials.
Required skills and personal attributes:
- In-depth understanding of Maharashtra's TVET ecosystem (ITI/COE/DVET/NSDC/SSCs/SSDMs/DDU-GKY/PMKYV/NAPS/MAPS etc.) along with latest reforms - NEP 2020.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects, manage stakeholders and drive outcomes.
- Ability to perform in high stress situations with minimal supervision.
- Strong exposure to working with government clients, donor agencies, and WB/ADB is preferred.
- Exposure to working on programs for skill ecosystem reforms, institutional capacity building, particularly on WB/ADB/IFI funded projects
- Must be able to develop strategic and high-quality documents
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Project management skills with proficiency in tools like MS Excel, PowerPoint
- Have Good English communication skills and fluent in Marathi
- Preferred previous organisation working with ITIs and technical training institutes like
Job Requirements:
- No of Positions: 4
- Education: MBA / Chartered Accountant / Postgraduate in related fields / Engineering / Management / Procurement from a reputed institution.
- Preferred Institutions: TISS, Mumbai/ Pune University, NMIMS School of Social Sciences, IIM (Public Policy), Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, College of Engineering Pune
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in TVET ecosystem
- Prior experience in World Bank / ADB / multilateral-funded projects preferred.
- Exposure to the Skill Development / TVET / ITI ecosystem preferred
Preferred Experience in working with industrial training institutes and partners like:
- TATA Strive, Quest, WB, ADB, Big4, PAN ITI, Tata IIS, HCL Foundation, BOSCH, Maruti, Schnieder, Bharat Forge, Rightwalk, Industry Tool Rooms, etc. and
- MGNF (Maharashtra Cohort) or CM Fellow (Skill Development and TVET)
