We are seeking a highly motivated and well-connected Automotive Sector Expert to lead initiatives in industry engagement, policy advisory, and investment promotion in the automotive ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have deep insights into the automotive value chain, an established network with OEMs, Tier 1 & Tier 2 suppliers, automotive industry associations, and other ecosystem stakeholders. The role demands both sectoral expertise and strategic relationship-building to drive growth, innovation, and investments in the automotive sector.
Key Responsibilities
1. Industry Engagement & Networking:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with automotive OEMs, component manufacturers, EV & battery players, and other sector stakeholders.
- Liaise with automotive industry associations (e.g., SIAM, ACMA, SMEV, etc.), clusters, and trade bodies to promote collaborations.
- Facilitate dialogues between government, investors, and industry players to address policy, regulatory, and infrastructure needs.
2. Sector Strategy & Policy Support
- Contribute to the formulation and implementation of sector-specific policies, incentive structures, and strategic plans.
- Monitor global and domestic trends in automotive technology, electric mobility, and supply chain dynamics to identify investment opportunities.
- Support in creating sectoral roadmaps focusing on EV adoption, hydrogen mobility, localization, and R&D promotion.
3. Investment Promotion & Facilitation
- Identify and engage potential domestic and international investors in the automotive sector.
- Provide advisory support to investors on policy benefits, site selection, supply chain linkages, and incentive availing processes.
- Coordinate with relevant government departments and agencies to ensure smooth facilitation of investment proposals.
4. Market Research & Intelligence
- Conduct market and competitor analysis, mapping of automotive clusters, and assessment of emerging sub-sectors.
- Track industry investments, policy changes, and technological advancements for strategic decision-making.
- Prepare sectoral reports, investment pitch materials, and knowledge papers.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering and Masters in Business, Economics, or related field or MBA.
- 5-8 years of experience in the automotive sector (OEM, Tier 1 supplier, consulting, industry association, or government engagement).
- Proven track record in industry engagement, investment facilitation, or policy advocacy.
- Strong network with automotive companies, suppliers, and sector associations in India (global connections preferred).
- Familiarity with EV, hydrogen mobility, and advanced manufacturing trends will be an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of the automotive manufacturing value chain, supply chains, and industry standards.
- Excellent networking and relationship management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with data-driven decision-making approach.
- Excellent communication skills-both written and verbal-with ability to present to senior stakeholders.
- Proactive, self-driven, and capable of working in fast-paced environments.
