We are seeking a highly experienced and well-connected professional to lead and support strategic initiatives focused on the growth and development of the Textile and Apparel sector in India. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of industry trends, supply chain dynamics, labor and skill ecosystems, export competitiveness, sustainability practices, and the regulatory environment affecting the textile landscape domestically and globally. Prior experience working with industry associations, export councils, consulting firms, or government advisory bodies is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Ecosystem Development:
- Conduct comparative analysis of Indian and global textile hubs, including cost competitiveness, supply chain strengths, and policy ecosystems.
- Design and implement strategies to strengthen local value chains (e.g., cotton, MMF, technical textiles), MSME integration, and innovation-led growth.
- Work with government stakeholders to align skilling programs, infrastructure investments (e.g., PM MITRA parks), and trade policies with industry needs.
- Contribute to policy formulation, incentive design, and institutional frameworks for boosting textile manufacturing, exports, and investments.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Liaise with central/state governments, industry associations (e.g., TEXPROCIL), and global brands to promote investment and collaboration.
- Represent the organization in policy dialogues, textile summits, and export forums to advocate for sectoral priorities.
- Build and maintain partnerships with value chain actors - manufacturers, design houses, logistics providers, sustainability platforms, and financial institutions.
Knowledge & Insights:
- Track global trends in fiber innovation, circular economy practices, sustainable sourcing, and digital transformation in textiles.
- Prepare market insights, export strategy papers, and cluster competitiveness reports for stakeholders.
- Maintain a repository of case studies on successful textile parks, FDI projects, and innovations in production and design.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Master's degree in Textile Technology, Business, Economics, Public Policy, or related fields.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in textile industry strategy, trade facilitation, cluster development, or policy advisory.
- Deep understanding of textile sub-sectors such as garments, home textiles, technical textiles, and value-added exports.
- Familiarity with issues related to raw material sourcing, labor productivity, ESG compliance, and global supply chain requirements.
- Excellent communication, policy writing, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Proven ability to work across public and private institutions, think tanks, and international trade bodies.
